today is the 1st national arts congress of the ncca, its being held in the folk arts theatre from 9am to 4pm. now, there's always something about events that has the words "1st", "congress", and better yet, "national" in it that always strikes me. subconsciously this has come to mean an occassion of great importance and urgency. some occassion that brings together minds of similar convictions coming from far off places to, well, among other things, declare their oneness as a "nation." one of the few occassions when the dramatic aspect of the word solidarity comes into play. i guess this is also similar to attending a rock concert, only without the drama.
unfortunately, i'm going to be stuck here in the office all day. groaning. resigned to listening to my officemates' "exotic electronica" as the dj calls it. but i call it stoopid trance. trying to come up with a slick ass storyboard presentation while constantly fighting off any feeling of drowsiness or hypnosis. the weird part is i can't seem to get my mind working without first listening to avril lavigne.
prologue
i passed by a group of "rallyists" in espana on the way to work late this morning. today is, i believe, when the supreme court will have an "oral argument" on the case of FPJ's citizenship. these "rallyists" are probably on their way to padre faura or mendiola to display a show of support for their "celebrity." what a waste. these people continuosly being led to believe that FPJ's cause is synonymous to the cause of the poor. organized under psuedo-progressive groups with hurried up names like "kasama" (probably to give it some "progressive movement" street cred, only it's funny that their flags almost always seem to include the letters f,p, j in it). duped by the very same people they're being conditioned to hate: the power hungry elite.
