i don't feel like writing about this (and someone already beat me to this anyway) but i feel i'm obliged to. so what the heck, this is just a stream of consciousness...
the sine taktakan event was a blast, no, i'm exaggereting it was a success! there was a real enthusiastic response from the crowd composed mostly of students from pnu, feu, up (diliman and manila), csb, lasalle (i think). it was a pleasure to see and hear a lot of bright young minds speaking... well, their minds on issues regarding the philippine media and the filipino political culture. though not everyone got a chance to voice out their opinions, there was, more or less, a "united" line of thought among the attendees and of the panelists(composed of the new kbp president, an academecian from up, both names of which escape me at the moment and lou veloso, comedian and manila councilor). even local punk rock luminary bobby balingit(the wuds) was there. the event lasted until about 1230pm (i arrived late at 1030). and of course, i didn't wanna leave the place without sampling the free barako coffee from figaro. i'm no real connoisseur (i even had to search to get the correct spelling) but free coffee is always good coffee.
i had lunch with ed cabagnot(of ccp film dept) and some other freefest students in nearby chowking. going home afterwards to get a quick nap before returning to attend another "cultural event" which i won't bother going into details now since, as i've said, haze already did an excellent job at it. well, if excellence means not having (high?) standards anyway. hmmm...
